This week has flown by so fast and I can’t believe it is time for the weekend already!
I am off to another weekend adventure, this time up north in the redwoods to the California School for Herbal Studies! I am finishing their advanced herbal medicine series and I can’t wait to learn even more about plants, flowers, herbal preparations + all that good stuff.
Before I go, I thought I would post a few resources for some weekend reading on the politics of food:
This article (although old + focused on the EU) is a good primer for understanding how capitalism destroys food security, food sovereignty + food safety.
Arun Gupta’s talk “The Political Economy of Doritos: Demystifying the Agro-Industrial Complex” is chock-full of information about multinational food production, the “stuffed and starved” phenomenon and ways to challenge the current food system…just ignore the anti-vegan jab at the end 🙂
And speaking of the politics of veganism, this article on Infoshop discusses the need for veganism to move past consumer politics into more encompassing anti-capitalist movements (thanks to Raechel for this one, huzzah!)
Alright, now go and have an AWESOME weekend!
